The site, called TeenSCV.com, offers city news and event information for teens in a “fun, interactive format,” according to a city news release.
“The youth-oriented site serves as a portal for local teenagers to stay up-to-date on activities and events in Santa Clarita, including volunteer and employment opportunities, transit information, leadership committees and other teen-run clubs and groups,” stated the news release.
One feature of the site is an interactive “Teen Shout Out” platform to showcase a variety of teens’ positive contributions throughout the Santa Clarita Valley.
Other categories include “Things to Do,” “Getting Around,” “Jobs/Volunteers,” “Stay Informed,” “Make a Difference” and more.
An accompanying Twitter page, @TeenSCV, has also been launched as a way for teens to connect by sharing pictures, news and events. Top tweets of the week are also set to be featured on the Teen SCV homepage.

To celebrate the site’s launch, city officials are hosting a #WinWednesday Twitter contest with weekly giveaways for teens, officials said.
A new contest tweet is set to be released every Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. asking teens to answer trivia questions about the site for the chance to win prizes.
The contest is set to begin Wednesday and continue through December 17 with winners being announced weekly.
