Sand court brings the beach closer to home.

Practicing beach volleyball just got a lot easier for Santa Clarita Residents. City Officials and community members gathered January 8 for the grand opening of a new Volleyball Court at the City Sports Complex. The all-sand court is the first of its kind in the city, and was constructed as part of the Sports Complex’s Phase IV Expansion.

Councilmembers Bob Kellar, Laurie Ender, Frank Ferry, and Mayor Pro-Tem Marsha McLean and Mayor Laurene West joined Parks Commissioners Matt Halliday and Janell Cornell to mark the occasion. The Sports Complex is located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway and is open to the public.
