In an effort to save energy and money, the city will begin to replace existing high-pressure sodium metal halide and fluorescent light fixtures with energy efficient induction lighting at the Newhall Metrolink Station.
This project is part of a much larger project funded by the Department of Energy to replace these inefficient light bulbs with those that are friendlier to the environment.

“It will save energy and it will also save maintenance costs because we wont have to replace them as often,” said Carla Callahan, assisstant engineer for the City of Santa Clarita.
This project that will take place at the Metrolink station in Newhall is expected to have minimal impact on commuters.
