North Newhall area residents and business owners invited to become involved
Plans for the North Newhall Specific Plan are continuing and the City is asking residents and business owners for their opinions. The City of Santa Clarita will host the “North Newhall Discovery Workshop” on Wednesday, August 2, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the William S. Hart Park in Hart Hall. The workshop will focus on the development of North Newhall Specific Plan for the area north of Downtown Newhall, along San Fernando Road.
“The workshop gives stakeholders with different ideas on the areas development a chance to work collaboratively with the City,” said Jason Mikaelian, Associate Planner for the City. “We will work closely with property owners and surrounding communities in developing the Plan. We want to include their input and address their concerns because it is vital to the success of this project. How do they envision the development of the North Newhall area? What uses or combination of uses do they want to see? This workshop is meant to address their needs.”
He added that the goal of the Plan is to provide property and business owners with the necessary tools to entice the quality investment, ensure a consistent development pattern with complimentary uses, preserve environmentally sensitive areas and provide mechanism to construct needed public improvements.
