City To Host Culture Night As Part Of Season Of Diversity

khts_inthecommunity2As part of the Season of Diversity program made possible every year by the city’s Human Relations Forum, the city will host Culture Night tomorrow evening at the Newhall Community Center.

Culture Night will be a celebration of the various cultures that make up our city and guests can expect food, arts and crafts, a display of cultural artifacts, and performances by the Ballet Folklorico as well as Aztec, Polynesian, and Japanese dance troupes.

Food, donated by local businesses, will be dishes of cultures and countries from around the world. The city will also be recognizing the fifth anniversary of the Newhall Community Center.

Upcoming events that are part of the Season of Diversity program include a Chinese New Year Dance to be held at the SCV Senior Center and also a highly anticipated appearance and speech made by a woman who grew up in the time of the Civil Rights Movement and marched alongside the Freedom Fighters.

Tonight, an event called the Whole World’s A Talking will held at Rio Norte Jr. High at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Joyce Lee who will tell various international folktales.

Culture Night begins at 5:00 p.m. The Newhall Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street in Old Town Newhall.
