City Transit Officials Open To Ideas From The Public

City officials are discussing ideas with the community regarding the 2013 Santa Clarita Transit development plan. Two development workshops on Nov. 14 and 15 at 7p.m. held at the Old town Newhall library will allow residents to to give feedback on the wants and needs concerning transit services.

“We are currently in the process of updating our transit development plan, We’ve discussed preliminary proposed changes with the community and we are trying to identify areas that are in need of additional service.” said Adrian Aguilar, Santa Clarita Transit manager. “Residents throughout Santa Clarita have shared their opinions, needs and priorities, for various transit services.”

“We are hopeful that community members will attend one of the upcoming workshops to learn how their input has helped shape future operations for Santa Clarita Transit,” said Aguilar.

As part of a comprehensive outreach effort launched earlier this year, Santa Clarita Transit has already gathered feedback and ideas from approximately 2,500 residents through surveys, focus groups and public workshops.

Once approved the 2013 Transit Development Plan will become a blueprint for the continuing development of public transit throughout the SCV over the next five to 10 years.
