Brighton’s Independence Americana bracelets are available for $58 at Cobblestone Cottage. Fifty percent of each purchase, $29, will be donated to the WiSH Foundation to be distributed among Hart District performing arts groups, including band, dance, choir, cheer and theater groups.
The bracelets are only available until Wednesday, July 31 or while supplies last.
Customers can choose the Hart District school, as well as the specific performing arts department to receive the profits.
Last year, more than $6,000 were raised for local schools.
“We’ll look forward to exceeding that amount this summer,” said Amy Daniels, executive director for the WiSH Foundation.
The fundraiser helps to fill in the gaps left by recent education budget cuts.
“Hardest hit are performing arts programs,” Daniels said. “By Cobblestone Cottage’s input and funding for our schools, it allows us to do so much more that we weren’t able to before. We’re hoping that increased funding will help bring back some programs, but until then making things like performing arts a reality means getting the community together to make a difference.”
