Awards will also be given out at the homecoming event.
[view:node_ad=5]The College of the Canyons Alumni & Friends is having a Homecoming Barbecue
on Sept. 20, 2008 to honor the year’s Outstanding COC Alumnus, Kevin Holmes,
former chair of the Foundation Board of Directors and the Outstanding Friend,
Lundgren Management, a construction management company, for its many
contributions to the college, specifically for its vital role in the opening of
the Canyon Country Campus. Lundgren Management is also overseeing the
construction of the college’s 110,000 square foot University
Center.
“This event is a special time set aside each year to thank some very important
people,” said Michele Edmonson, assistant director of development of the
college’s foundation. “Kevin Holmes and Lundgren Management were selected
because of their positive influence on the college and its students. They are
very deserving of this award.”
The barbecue will be held in the Cougar Den at Cougar Stadium at 4:30 p.m., and will be followed by the
college’s homecoming football game against Los
Angeles Valley College
at 7 p.m.
The barbecue—provided by the Santa Clarita Elks Lodge—will also include dessert
and beverages. A no-host bar will help raise funds for college scholarships.
Alumni and Friends member adult tickets are $15 and $10 for children and for
non-members, adult tickets are $20 and $12 for children. Tickets will also
allow entrance to the game.
All proceeds will support student and alumni programs.
To RSVP, call (661) 362-3737 by Sept. 16.
