Job seekers hoping to take advantage of current opportunities and get good solid career advice should plan on attending College of the Canyons’ fall Job and Career Fair on Saturday, October 9.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on that date, employers who are actively seeking to hire staff in entry, middle or upper level positions, as well as bring on interns will be in the Santa Clarita Activities Center at the city’s sports complex on Centre Pointe Parkway.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Santa Clarita Valley Community Expo.

To prepare for the job fair, a free workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at two times (the same materials will be presented at each session); noon to 1 p.m. and 6 to 7 p.m. at the College of the Canyons Valencia Campus, Student Center Rm. 123). This workshop will share what to expect at a job fair, how to prepare, what to bring, the importance of networking and appearance.
Employers confirmed for the October 9 event include Antelope Valley Hospital, Best Buy, California National Guard, COC Internships, ComForcare Home Care, Dynamic Nursing Service, Goodwill Job Service Center, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, Hybrid Auto Glass, Inc., Los Angeles Airport County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Macy’s Inc., New York Life, Senior Operations, LLC, Six Flags Magic Mountain and the United States Air Force.
