COC Opens Free Career Camp July 10

COClogoThis month the College of the Canyons Career Center will present the free daylong event CareerCampSCV, designed to assist students and community members who are unemployed, underemployed or recent college graduates, to build the careers they’ve always desired.

CareerCampSCV will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, July 10, in the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center, Room 258, located on the College of the Canyons Valencia campus.

This event will include guest speakers, ad-hoc presentations and interactive breakout sessions focused on the various aspects of both building and improving one’s professional career — no matter their age, experience or career field.

“CareerCampSCV is different from your typical conference in that it creates itself, based on the interest and involvement of the attendees,” said Anthony Michaelides, director of the COC Career Center. “You can attend to listen and learn, or you may choose to lead a group in your own specialty area, but the ultimate goal is for you to leave with new contacts, information and leads that will help move you to the next step in your career.”

Though CareerCampSCV admission and parking are free, those planning to attend this event must register online, as space is limited.

For more information, including a list of scheduled speakers, or to register please visit http://CareerCampSCV.wordpress.com or contact Mitch Krayton at (661) 310-2435.
