COC Students Put Together Veterans Interviews For Holiday Weekend

Special show will broadcast on the internet and television.
[view:node_ad=5]Starting July 4th, a special show will air on SCVTV (channel 20) and SCVTV.com The program will feature interviews with veterans, compiled by College of the Canyons students.

The idea stemmed from Patty Robinson at COC, who is involved with the Library of Congress sponsored Veterans History Project. The Project works to garner veterans’ stories and preserve them for future generations.

Robinson contacted COC instructor Dave Brill, who made the interviews a part of his Radio Television and Film 125 class.

After the footage was prepared and edited by the students, a special show was put together.

That show will be available for all to see on channel 20 and SCVTV.com July 4th, 5th and 6th at 6:00 p.m.

“It was a learning experience for both students and instructor,” said Brill. “At first, students were apprehensive sitting down with former soldiers, but once the ball got rolling, each and every student found the experience rewarding and educational.  I am looking forward to doing this again next semester.”
