Face-painting, pumpkin decorating, live music and a free movie screening will all be open to families on Friday, Nov. 1 at the College of the Canyons Family Fall Festival from 5 to 9 p.m.

Held at COC’s Canyon Country Campus, the event will feature Steven Spielberg’s “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” screened at the campus amphitheater starting at 6:30 p.m.
The COC Associated Student Government will serve free popcorn and cotton candy during the film, in addition to running a face-painting booth and providing the pumpkins for children to decorate. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase.
Students in the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education program will help with other activities, such as friendship necklace making and harvest-themed activities. A live music band will perform before the movie screening.
Staff members will also be on-hand to provide information about the college’s instructional programs and student services. Local community organizations such as the Canyon Country Business Association and Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce will provide information about their services.
Guests are encouraged to dress warmly and bring blankets.
