Community Activist David Gauny To Run For Council

Gauny best known for “smart growth” formation.

David Gauny, who made headlines over the last half decade opposing the original Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital master plan’s scale, plans to enter his name into the mix for Santa Clarita City Council.

Gauny, a local businessman, plans to make the announcement Friday morning in front of City Hall.

 

During the battle to reduce the size of Henry Mayo’s planned expansion, Gauny formed and led a large group of citizens called Smart Growth SCV.

Three seats are open in April’s election. Incumbents Frank Ferry, Laurene Weste and Marsha McLean are all running for re-election. TimBen Boydston has also thrown his hat into the ring.
