Bone marrow drive planned for Sunday.
This Sunday, the community is being asked to “say Ahhh.”
That simple act will be enough for a cheek swab that will determine if anyone
is a bone marrow match for two year-old Jacob Fierro, who has been battling
leukemia.
The toddler needs a bone marrow transplant to save his life,
and because of the difficulty of finding a match, a high number of people need
to be tested. Those with Hispanic
heritage are especially sought after.
The test is non-invasive, simply a cheek swab. The public is
encouraged to stop by First Christian Church in Canyon Country for the test,
between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m on Sunday September 7th.
