From 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 18, the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Valencia Town Center invites the community to attend a festival and fundraiser for the Garrick Moss family.
The Moss’ son, Blake, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at four and a half months, the youngest diagnosis in the history of UCLA Medical Center.

Over time and after a number of irregularities, severe spasms, physical weakness and epilepsy, doctors determined Blake was only the seventh person in the world with DEND syndrome, an extremely rare genetic disorder characterized by developmental delay, epilepsy and diabetes.
Since Blake’s birth, the family has endured numerous near-death hospital visits, surgeries, procedures and exorbitant medical expenses. To help offset his past, ongoing and future medical burdens, the Chick-fil-A restaurant will donate a percentage of all May 18 sales during the event. The first $5,000 raised will be matched by a Moss family friend.
The restaurant invites customers to enjoy live music, carnival games, a raffle and more. For additional event information, visit the restaurant Facebook event page.
