Community Meeting Set To Discuss Newhall Library’s Future

Come to voice your opinions on the new Downtown NewhallLibrary.  [view:node_ad=5] The City of Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County and the County Library are hosting a meeting on March 20, from 6-7:30 p.m. at William S. Hart Park for a community meeting regarding the new Newhall Library.

Community members are invited to attend and voice their opinions and share their thoughts on what the new Newhall Library should include.

“It is important to know what amenities, services, and qualities the community is looking for in the new library” commented Ken Pulskamp, City Manager.  “This process and input is vital in providing a facility the community will support and utilize for years to come,” he added.

The community meeting will consist of a presentation and discussion of the needs assessment, current library trends, a virtual tour of new California libraries as well as an opportunity for community members to share their ideas for the new library that will be located in Downtown Newhall.

The new Newhall library will be located at the corner of Main Street and Lyons Avenue, on property acquired by the City for this purpose.  The new library will replace the existing, smaller library, currently located on 9th Street.  Santa Clarita.

For more information regarding the community meeting, or the Newhall Library project, please contact Ingrid Hardy, City’s Management Analyst at (661) 286-4068.
