The event will be held at Pyramid Lake on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The nonprofit organization is set to invite roughly 40 children from the community to participate, along with about 75 volunteers, according to the organization.

During the event, the children will be paired with an experienced boater or fisherman and will set out on the lake and learn how to fish.

Each child will be educated about boating safety, fishing ethics, and the importance of the environment and natural resources, according to the organization.

After the fishing event, refreshments and a barbecue luncheon for all the volunteers, along with an awards ceremony, will follow.
