The Canyon Country Community Center is scheduled to host a free Sock Hop for families to enjoy a night of dancing and rock ‘n roll classics.

Community members are invited to join in a two-hour throwback event inspired by the 1950s music scene on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 p.m until 9 p.m.
“Join your friends as you bop the night away to your favorite boogie-woogie, doo-wop and Rock ‘N Roll classics!” a press release from the City of Santa Clarita website reads. “You are welcome to lose the shoes and dance in your socks to all your favorites from the 1950s.”
For the past five years, the Canyon County Community Center has hosted a different dance every three months for Santa Clarita residents, according to Recreation Coordinator Glena Kristensen.
