UPDATE: Canyon Country Power Outage Concludes After Nine Hours

 Update 11:50 p.m. — Power has returned to the areas affected by the Canyon Country power outage. Southern California Edison closed the call at approximately at 11:45 a.m. Saturday morning.

A Canyon Country power outage reported around Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway has been reported by Southern California Edison officials.

The outage began early Saturday morning at approximately 2:00 a.m., according to officials.

The estimated time of completion for the repairs and power to return is 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The power outage has affected 334 customers, or homes, reports the SEC.

The issue that led to the outage has been cited as “equipment problems.” Southern California Edison officials are currently working to remedy the situation and return power to the area.

Due to the triple digit heat today, Santa Clarita citizens, especially those who are affected by the Canyon Country power outage and without air conditioning, are advised to know the locations of all cooling stations located around the SCV.
