On Tuesday, April 3, the city of Santa Clarita is set to hold a public hearing to give residents an opportunity to voice their opinions on proposed projects that would build multiple cell towers in Canyon Country.

One of the applicants, Verizon Wireless, is requesting approval of a conditional use permit and development review to allow for the construction, installation, and operation of an unmanned wireless communications facility.

The facility would be located within a new, approximately 360 square-foot, 47-foot tall steeple/tower structure at the southern portion of the Sanctuary Church property, at 26460 Friendly Valley Parkway.

The proposed facility would include 12 panel antennas, 18 remote radio units, one GPS antenna, one stand-by generator, and two equipment cabinets, according to city officials

As proposed, the tower would be entirely located within the proposed structure and would not be visible to the public. The steeple/tower would be an accessory structure to the existing church serve as a tower element for the church, according to officials.
