On Monday, July 16, 23-year-old Delany Luh was heading home on a Delta Airline flight from Chicago to Los Angeles.
“I was in the middle seat side by side by two men I did not know,” Luh said on social media. “I ended up falling asleep and woke up to a drunk man with his hands down my leggings.”
Luh then cried out to get the attention of the flight attendants. They switched her seat for the remainder of the flight, and told her that the situation would be handled once the flight landed.
On June 16th I was sexually assaulted on a @delta flight home from Chicago to LA. I was in the middle seat side by side by two men I did not know. I ended up falling asleep and woke up to a drunk man with his hands down my leggings. pic.twitter.com/9iS75rcdwI

“Upon arrival, I was told that I’d be escorted off the flight assuming they would arrest the man (named Will),” Luh sad. “Unfortunately, I was let down by the staff at Delta who let the man go. I was left humiliated, violated, scared and filled with anxiety.”
According to Luh, the airline let the man go, and gave her a $200 voucher — an amount that Luh says didn’t even cover the cost of her flight.
In the end all @delta did was gave me a weak $200 voucher that didn’t even cover my flight cost to get to my destination. Police officers arrived on the scene where I told them what had happened and they explained that @delta did not follow the correct protocol for this incident. pic.twitter.com/vPsn5faS2i

After Luh took her story to Twitter Friday, Delta announced that they were investigating the incident.
“The incident was reported to local and federal law enforcement shortly after the aircraft landed,” Trebor Banstetter, spokesman for Delta, said. “We have reached out to Ms. Luh for more information on this incident.”
Banstetter went on to describe the reported behavior as “unacceptable” and said that the airline puts its customers’ safety first.

Plan and simple, this is a Sexual Assault. Law enforcement should take a complaint and file criminal charges against the man. The Airline, Delta should willingly and voluntarily provide all identification about the man. The airline is responsible for the safety of all it’s passengers so by not detaining the man and notifying Law Enforcement prior to landing have placed themselves in at very least opening to civil damages. They have detained and called Law Enforcement on persons for far less serious acts of disturbance on flights in the past.
Ha ha, they put their customers first but OOPS! We let the guy go! (how convenient, maybe if we quietly sweep this under the tarmac she’ll just forget about it. They should very well know who the passenger was who was assigned to the seat next to her. Because the airline did not treat this as a serious issue, they now have a much bigger problem on their hands. The airport police should have been notified of the incidence before landing and the jerk detained and questioned upon landing…BEFORE he left the plane. Total mishandling of a very serious incident. I do wonder, who was the passenger on the other side of her? Like he didn’t notice anything going on?
You somehow blame another passenger rather than the airline. I fly constantly for work and ignore everything that I see and hear and often fake or really sleep. If I involved myself in everything it would never end. How about this ceebee. Let’s ban alcohol and passengers that smell like booze or weed from boarding. Let’s make airlines accountable for what people do when the airlines overserve them. Would probably reduce accidents after the flight on the roadway. I’ve never seen a sober passenger act badly. It’s always the drunks. We business travelers are sick of being part of drunken vacations. Maybe a drinking section in the back with a bouncer?
Not really sure where you are coming from on this one, Zookie, but I sense a rant and would like to respond:
*I’m not blaming the other passenger. But I do question if they witnessed anything at all. Perhaps he practiced the Zookie motto, ignore and fake sleep. Nice.
*What exactly does ‘over serve’ mean, really? Most people who are ‘over served’ (and there are a lot of people who accept whatever’s being served), don’t commit sexual assault on an airplane
*I don’t believe Delta should be accountable for what passengers do on an airplane. The passengers need to be accountable for what they do on an airplane. The Delta flight crew on that plane had the responsibility to follow up with the woman’s complaint, notify the appropriate law enforcement agency and NOT allow the guy to exit the plane. Instead, he just quietly walked away
*sounds like you are sick of traveling…time for a change
Its horrible, a women can’t even take a nap man .Why do some men think still today that is ok . If i was her, when i woke up ,i would have slapped him, and made sure the whole plane new what happen with this pervert….and but his face on social media. Sorry girl you had to endure that. A shout out its not ok man…
