“We had a big turnout today, and our store was continuously busy,” said CHP Officer Josh Greengard. “We had a total of $210 at our location.”

From 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday morning, residents were invited to visit the Dunkin Donuts located on Bouquet Canyon Road for the “Cop on a Rooftop” event.

If those in attendance made a donation to the Special Olympics, they received a free medium coffee and a chance to meet with officers from the CHP Newhall office.

The event was one of 70 total events across Southern California that partnered Dunkin Donuts with CHP officers in order to raise money for the Special Olympics.

“We are always happy to partner with the Special Olympics, and all the money we raised goes straight to the athletes for their competitions,” said Greengard.

Greengard estimates 90 percent of Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Southern California will be assisting law enforcement in their efforts to raise funds for special needs athletes.

Those who were not able to make it to the event, but are still interested in contributing to the Special Olympics through the CHP fundraiser, can make donations by visiting here.
