City Council Recognizes Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station Personnel

Four Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station personnel were given awards for their work in law enforcement by Mayor Laurene Weste and the rest of City Council during the council’s Tuesday meeting.

While being presented with the awards, each of the four recipients had stories shared about them that reminded those present about the partnership they have with their community.

Deputy Chris Germansen has worked for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station for the last three years.

“He is passionate about his job and keeping the residents of Santa Clarita safe,” she said. “On Jan. 21, 2016, Germansen Sustained a serious injury on a call where a suspect with a butcher knife barricaded himself in a Canyon Country home with two young children. Germansen and another deputy were able to free the children, but Germansen was injured after a physical altercation with the suspect.”

Detective Victoria Lambrecht has been a member of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station for eight years.

“Lambrecht is part of the robbery and assault team,” said Weste. “In 2017, she was assigned 151 cases and solved 98 percent of them, and 109 of them were domestic violence cases. She is also responsible of monitoring the sex offenders who reside in the Santa Clarita Valley. In November 2017, she assisted with getting a baby back after being taken by his father who was on drugs and possibly suicidal.”

Law enforcement technician Kristina Casaus has served as a dispatcher for the Santa Clarita Valley station for the last five years.

“Casaus has answered hundreds of 911 calls throughout Santa Clarita,” said Weste. “She is the calm voice that the people here over the phone. She has stayed on the line with several distraught people who are suicidal, and people who have been the victim of domestic abuse, while keeping them calm until help arrives on seen.”

And system administrator Camelia Hachem has served for three years with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s station.

“She is solely responsible for the maintenance of all computers, servers, networks and copiers for the entire station: a very demanding job but critical to the functionality of the station.”

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes.
