Los Angeles County residents less than six months from turning 20 are getting the opportunity to test for a career as a first responder during the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Trainee Test being hosted at College of the Canyons.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is offering a chance to take the Accelerated Test at the college’s Valencia campus on June 16.
Candidates must pass the physical and written tests to become deputy sheriff’s trainees.
LASD staff are expected to administer accelerated testing in June, condensing the process to a single day of work.
Eligible participants must be 19 1/2 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. They must also have a valid U.S. Citizenship, a valid California class C driver’s license and be physically fit, according to LASD officials.
LASD deputies earn a salary between $70,000 and $100,000 plus benefits.
Testing will take place at College of the Canyons, in Aliso Hall on Saturday, June 16, beginning at 8 a.m. COC is located at 26455 Rockwell Canyon Rd.
Those interested in taking the test are instructed to wear workout attire, bring water and snacks and park in Lot 8.
