The City of Santa Clarita’s Concerts in the Park plans to have a country music themed night with Savannah Burrows and other country artists on Saturday, July 29, at 7:00 p.m. at Central Park.

Musical acts are scheduled to include country singer-songwriter Savannah Burrows of Santa Clarita, and country cover band Double Wide, according to a city press release.

Burrows returns to Central Park after being crowned champion of the 35th Country Showdown, America’s largest country music talent showcase, in front of thousands of fans in 2016.

The experience of winning last year’s Country Showdown not only landed her a spot in the state finals and then the regional competition in New Mexico.

A sixteen-year-old student at West Ranch high school, Burrows has performed her originally written music in SCV, Nashville, Tennessee and she even opened for the Swon Brothers.

Following Burrows, Double Wide plans to perform a wide range of country hits including those with classic rock and pop roots. The band’s set list has featured songs from Big & Rich, Toby Keith, Hank Williams Jr. and Willie Nelson, according to event organizers.

Concerts in the Park is a series of free concerts put on by the City every Saturday night through August 26 and attendees should arrive early for parking and seating, according to officials.

Concert-goers are encouraged to bring beach chairs and blankets, and food vendors will be on site selling a variety of concessions and snacks. A free bicycle valet service is provided by the SCV Bicycle Coalition, according to event organizers.
