Although Valencia Valley is not in session until August 17, the young girl was at a Sunshine summer camp on the campus, according to officials.

“There was no accident at the camp, but the girl did collapse,” said a Sunshine Day Camp official. “There was a medical emergency and we felt it necessary to alert officials.”

The Los Angeles County Fire Department received the call at 1:46 p.m. and was on scene by 1:48 p.m, according to Inspector Richard Licon.

“The patient was then taken to a nearby pediatric center,” Licon said.

Her status is unknown at this time.

  1. Thanks for everyone’s concerns. This is in regards to my daughter. She had a ruptured avm in her brain, and the doctors advised it is rare and is something she was born with. They have said that no amount of activity or stress or heat could have caused the rupture. She was flown from northridge to ucla and is finally stable after surgery to block the avm and release the pressure from the brain bleed. I want to thank everyone for their prayers as this has been an extremely scary time for our family. Bless the lord she will be alright with physical therapy ????????????????????????????????????????
