The Smoke Signal, one of the largest Santa Clarita Valley school newspapers in terms of both history and page count, is looking for local business and institutions that want to advertise in the paper.

The 24-page Smoke Signal covers the entirety of student life at Hart High School. Student-journalists discuss sports, art, entertainment, news and feature articles that are then distributed to the student body.

“Our journalism program is in need of advertisements to raise money for our six paper printings for the year,” said Bella Sandoval, a ninth grade Hart High School Indian and member of the journalism program. “Our goal is to raise $900 for this upcoming issue which will be our first one of the school year.”

Along with helping provide the audience and platform for a business’ advertising, Hart High School and The Smoke Signal has also stated that their graphic design team can help assist with the ad design.

“Simply give us your logos, ad (code), and any other content you desire, and we will design it for you,” said a Smoke Signal news release.

Sandoval also emphasized that if an individual wished to support the paper but does not have the need for advertisements, the Smoke Signal has avenues for assistance.

“The Smoke Signal is accepting items or goods that a business would like to contribute to our raffle basket that will be on display at Back To School Night,” said Sandoval. “But if you are unable to participate in our advertisement or the raffle, The Smoke Signal is also accepting any monetary donations.”
