The man found dead behind Oak Tree Liquor in Canyon Country Monday night has been identified by Coroner’s officials.

Javier Urueta, 56, was found by deputies around 8 p.m. in a field behind the 19600 block of Soledad Canyon Road, according to Ed Winter, assistant chief with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner Coroner’s office. Urueta is believed to be homeless.

“The call came in as a cardiac arrest,” said Vanessa Lozano, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Urueta was pronounced dead at the scene and was not transported to a hospital, she said.
Sgt. Lopez of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station confirmed that no foul play was suspected in the death, and deputies are not investigating the incident as a homicide.
An autopsy is still pending, Winter said.
