Kathleen Kenneally, the owner of Kenneally Acupuncture in Canyon Country, said the practice draws from an ancient Chinese tradition to heal patients and help them fight illness and infection.

“Each season is connected to a different element in Chinese medicine,” said Kenneally. “The treatment is designed to align your energy with the energy of the season.”

As part of the treatment, patients undergo a 30 minute acupuncture treatment and receive information about foods they can eat that could benefit their health.

“I give a lot of information to educate people so they can move forward in the season with tools to help them stay healthy,” said Kenneally.

In addition to pamphlets about which food might benefit her patients, Kenneally offers essential oils for her patients’ immunes systems during the spring season.

“We have created an essential oil spray for the season which Kathleen formulates,” said Patty Junod, a staffer at Kenneally acupuncture. “This time it’s called citrus bliss … she provides a lot of recipes for the spring.”

Kenneally welcomes new patients to come try acupuncture during these seasonal events.

“I like to demystify acupuncture, and make it much more accessible to people.” Kenneally said. “It’s a community thing. I’ve been doing this about 15 years … it’s a nice thing to have people come try out acupuncture.”
