KHTS Radio is now accepting applications for summer internship opportunities, giving students a chance to learn how a radio station works from the inside. Interns can learn how to write and broadcast news stories, operate an on-air broadcast or develop branding for local businesses.

The station is looking for students who are interested in developing their professional skills in a semester-long internship program, giving them the opportunity to gain experience within Santa Clarita Valley’s only commercial radio station, broadcasting on 98.1 FM and 1220 AM.

Both high school and college students are invited to apply for internships in the following areas: radio production, video editing, news reporting, graphic design, web design, business and social media.  

Learn to cover Santa Clarita news, crime and politics. Multimedia interns can experience a regular day in the KHTS newsroom, covering breaking news, events and more in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Through hands-on experience, interns can learn skills that professionals utilize on a daily basis.

Video interns have the chance to learn about video editing and go on location to shoot news packages or video features.

Web Development and SEO interns can expect to learn skills in online marketing and search engine optimization while getting hands-on experience with website building programs and tools.

Social Media interns can gain professional experience working with multiple social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite, Snapchat and more.
