“I want him back,” said Fertle’s owner Lee Walker. “Who ever finds my turtle will receive a $500 reward.”
“Fertle is an East Coast Southern Cooter turtle who is 10-year-old but looks younger,” confirmed Fertle’s owner Lee Walker,. “He is a small hand-sized turtle, and has a green, black and yellow swirl colored body with an all brown shell and octagon platelets.”
Fertle was last seen in early November near Pinetree Community Elementary School on Lotusgarden Dr. in Santa Clarita, according to Walker.
“A young man saw the turtle walking down the street and asked a nearby resident if the turtle was hers,” Walker said.
The young man who last saw the turtle told the resident that he lived in Sand Canyon, and was just dropping off his sister’s backpack at a nearby elementary school, Walker explained.
“I talked to the principal of the school and told her about what happened,” Walker continued. “However, because the girl attending the school is a minor, the principal wasn’t able to give me any way to get into contact with her.”
The principal did send the information given by Walker to all of the teachers to share with the students in hopes of finding Fertle.
If you believe that you found Fertle, or have seen him around, you may contact Walker at 323-449-9062.
