Newhall Escrow Co. is celebrating 55 years in the business as “the SCV’s Most Trusted Escrow Company,” after opening its doors in 1963.

“We’re proud of that heritage, as we reflect upon our company’s history and prepare to celebrate our 55th anniversary,” said Steven Corn, president and CEO of Newhall Escrow. “The company was instrumental in the growth and development of the valley over the past half-century, and we’re proud to uphold that legacy today. Many of our clients are now repeat customers who are no longer ‘new’ to the SCV, and have come to know and trust our team.”

When the family owned business first opened its doors, Santa Clarita was in a transitional period from the sleepy rural community it once was, to the thriving suburban city residents enjoy today.

Throughout the years, Newhall Escrow has put forth the effort to not only be efficient, but also help new residents make the most of their move-in experience, even through the many changes the escrow process has gone through.

In 1963 escrow papers were up to two pages long maximum, and the process was very simple. As laws and requirements have changed however, transactions have become more complicated due to the uniqueness of each escrow and the wide range of legal requirements they must meet.

“We’re proud to say our team has stayed ahead of those changes for 55 years,” said Corn, who has owned the company since 2004. “We emphasize personal service, teamwork and attention to detail, and we have an excellent team of professionals with the experience and knowledge to make each client’s transaction go as smoothly and efficiently as possible.”

Corn and his team continue to maintain strong connections within the community, supporting a number of local nonprofit organizations.

Through his service on several nonprofit boards of directors, Corn is able to give back to his community allowing him to make community connections he says he values.
