The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The Northlake development’s planned site is located in the Santa Clarita Valley Planning Area in unincorporated Los Angeles County, and is expected to be roughly 1,330 acres, with 720 acres planned for initial development and 610 acres set to be developed in the future.

Officials are set to speak about land divisions as laid out by the Vesting Tentative Parcel Map No. 073335. The document includes plans for road locations and dimensions, a list of utilities and services, locations for housing developments and more.

The map allocates 386 lots and over 1,900 dwelling units and associated commercial, recreational, industrial and public facilities for the neighborhood. To view the full document click here.

The Planning Commision will discuss the authorization of a conditional use permit that would allow for grading over 100,000 cubic yards of land, construction of walls exceeding six feet tall and the construction of two water tanks and associated infrastructure.

Plans called for the area to be serviced by Newhall County Water District, which has recently merged with other local water wholesalers to form the Santa Clarita Water Agency.

Officials will also consider the environmental impact as laid out by Environmental Assessment No. 201500030. In this report, impacts to traffic, air quality and noise pollution were determined to remain significant and unavoidable even after the implementation of mitigation measures.

After the public hearings the commission will open up to public comment. Those speaking will be limited to 15 minutes to present with an additional ten minutes to respond to issues raised by others.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the LA County Regional Planning Commision website which can be accessed by clicking here.
