The exhibit began on Jan. 12, and is set to display until May 11.
The “Domes’ exhibit is located inside the Old Town Newhall Library, where members of the community gather to meet for classes and workshops.
Those who visit the art show will have the opportunity to see artwork featuring the domed cityscape of Jerusalem, surrounded by arches, towers, and walls.
“Domes are very dominant, that’s what captured my imagination and I (just) love to paint that landscape,” said Young.
Young left Jerusalem, where she was born and raised, 40 years ago, but said she is still inspired by the beauty of the city. Now, Young uses Jerusalem as inspiration in her paintings, mosaics and books of poetry.
“I may have left the city of Jerusalem, but it has never left me,” Young said.
Through the use of vivid, brilliant colors, she is able to express her love for the ancient city of Jerusalem and its eternal beauty.
“I hope that through the pictures… (that visitors are able to see the) colorful optimistic paintings [that] give them a glimpse of hope… (of) the city of peace,” said Young. “Hopefully they leave feeling good after seeing good art with a colorful, optimistic, hopeful message in it.”
