The Santa Clarita Public Library has partnered with College of the Canyons Makerspace to host the free event at the Old Town Newhall Library, and officials have announced that this year’s theme is “Create Your World.”

“The College of the Canyons MakerSpace team will be on-site to educate and encourage attendees to explore new ways to create through hands-on activities, including a demo of a digital planetarium,” said a city news release. “Young children will enjoy lei-making, building and creation stations. There will be plenty of exciting activities for teens too, including the opportunity to demonstrate the library’s new virtual reality system.”

In addition to the family-friendly arts and crafts activities, Santa Clarita Mayor Cameron Smyth and Assemblyman Dante Acosta will commence the festival at 10:30 a.m. with a special story reading in the Old Town Newhall Community Room, according to event organizers.
