The annual tradition, scheduled for Nov. 17, features the lighting of Main Street’s decorations, as well as a 23-foot tall Christmas tree in front of the Old Town Newhall Library.

Additionally, the event features live reindeer, face painting, real snow and photo opportunities with both Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Food trucks are also scheduled to make an appearance to provide a variety of options for both dinner and desserts, while local fine craft vendors will offer the opportunity to pick up unique gifts for the holidays.

The lighting is scheduled to be followed by a free concert until 9 p.m. from the band Prussia, who were previously featured at the Senses Block Party.

Some road closures in Newhall have been planned to facilitate the event, according to City officials.

Lyons Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Walnut Street is scheduled to close from 2 p.m. to midnight, and Main Street between Lyons Avenue and Market Street is planned to close from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Walnut Street and Market Street are scheduled to remain open to through traffic, said City officials.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17 beginning at 6 p.m., and members of the Santa Clarita City Council plan to ignite the lights at 7:30 p.m.
