Paul Walker Documentary Set To Premiere Next Month

Paul Walker’s legacy will be remembered in the new documentary “I Am Paul Walker,” set to be premiered in August.

The documentary, directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, is expected to showcase family footage of Walker, who was killed in Santa Clarita in 2013, alongside interviews with family and friends.

“Fast and the Furious” co-star Tyrese Gibson and Walker’s parents participated in the documentary, according to filmmakers.

Walker rose to fame after the success of film franchise, “The Fast And The Furious.” Set in a world where street racing is a regular occurance, the performance motoring world helped make the franchise one of Hollywood’s biggest.

Walker died in a crash in Santa Clarita on Nov. 30, 2013 while leaving a charity event. He was a passenger in a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT driven by Roger Rodas, CEO of a performance car company, who also died in the crash.

A car show in memory of Walker was held in May at College of the Canyons.

Sanctioned by the Walker family, automotive enthusiasts lined up to display their sports cars in an effort to raise proceeds for Walker’s charity, Reach Out WorldWide, the same charity Walker was raising funds for the day he died.

“I Am Paul Walker” is part of a series of documentaries on Paramount Network, which include famous people such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Steve McQueen. The documentary is slated to premiere on Paramount Network on Aug. 11 at 9 p.m.
