Jameson Brooks Witty, 21, returned to court in a preliminary setting to answer for 16 charges, including vandalism, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, criminal threats and gross negligence in the discharge of a firearm, among others.

Witty is scheduled to return to court for another preliminary setting on October 23.

On May 27, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested Witty after he reportedly forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s house at gunpoint, and then demanded she leave with him, according to Sheriff’s Station officials.

“When confronted by the victim’s friends, the suspect produced a handgun from his waistband and fired a round into the ceiling,” said Shirley Miller, spokeswoman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, in a previous KHTS article.

Once he was outside, Witty fired another shot, according to a Sheriff’s Station report.

At some point during the incident, the suspect put the gun back into his waistband and the victim’s friends subdued him, taking the gun away.

Responding deputies arrested Witty while he reportedly attempted to flee the scene.

This is not Witty’s first appearance in court for crimes he’s been suspected of committing in Santa Clarita.

At the age of 18, Witty pleaded no contest to three charges for stealing a piece of Paul Walker’s car following the actor’s fatal 2013 crash.

After stealing the car part, Witty posted on his instagram account: “Piece of Paul Walker’s car, took it off a tow truck at a stop light #paulwalker #rip #comeup.”

Witty is currently being held at Men’s Central Jail in lieu of $945,000 bail.

  1. What an idiot.. glad they arrested him before he could have killed someone. Hope his dumbass rots in jail. People that treat their girlfriends or ex girlfriends in a controlling and life threatening way in attempt to kidnap them deserve to rot in jail.
