The ribbon cutting ceremony for the Old Town Newhall Parking Structure is scheduled for Thursday, May 10 at 11 a.m.

The ribbon cutting event gives residents the first opportunity to see the parking structure, which will provide highly anticipated parking in the area. A brief ceremony will be held at the entrance to the structure, followed by a speaking program on the rooftop, which will give guests unparalleled views of the Santa Clarita Valley.

As part of the Santa Clarita 2020 plan under the theme “Enhancing Economic Vitality,” the City of Santa Clarita constructed the new parking structure on the Redevelopment Block in Old Town Newhall.

The structure adds 372 parking stalls and is one of three projects on the Redevelopment Block, which will also include the Newhall Crossings residential and retail space and a new Laemmle Theatre, both scheduled to open in 2019.

  1. Yay Parking Structure! But-
This will not be the first time we look at it.
And, having driven past it so many times during its construction, I see it has grown to 5 or 6 stories.
From the top, that would indeed be ‘unparalleled views of the Santa Clarita Valley’ (what did you think you’d see?) as you would be at a height perpendicular to ground level.
