Over the last three decades, cityhood has resulted in millions of dollars staying in the Santa Clarita Valley, enabling the city to provide new facilities, programs and services.

These include 34 public parks, 85 miles of off street trails, more than 9,000 acres of preserved open space, three Metrolink stations, three libraries, two community centers, anti-drug programs for youth, hundreds of sports and recreation programs, the Aquatic Center, Skatepark, traffic and road improvements, preventing a new landfill and a new aggregate mining project.

  1. I’m so proud to have been and still am a resident along with my husband, for 52 years.
The city has grown so beautifully and yes we have wonderful parks and libraries, but what upsets me
Is the east side of town, aka, canyon country,Sand Canyon and eastern Newhall, has yet to have
A 24 hr. Emergency care facility. With over 180 thousand residents and more that come to work here,
The odds are diminishing of getting emergency care during high traffic hours. As seniors now I think a hospital exrention
would and should be a priority after 30 years of city planning. congrstulstions to the city of Santa Clarita.

  2. “As the city celebrates it’s 30th anniversary” should be “As the city celebrates its 30th anniversary” to reflect the possessive use. The word “it’s” is a contraction and means: it is.
