The Santa Clarita City Council agreed to abandon the existing easement for slope and drainage purposes for the Needham Ranch Project during Tuesday night’s Council meeting, allowing the 54-acre first stage of the project to continue.

The Needham Ranch project, which was originally approved in June 2003, is set to create a commercial industrial park west of Sierra Highway and south of Newhall Avenue, according to city officials.
Trammell Crow Company and Clarion Partners broke ground on the industrial park, called The Center, last year.

Phase one of The Center at Needham Ranch is a 869,760-square-foot complex, with seven building ranging from 34,270-to-210,560 square feet, according to the Trammell Crow Company’s website. The buildings located at The Center are set to have large areas for trucks to enter and loading docks at each of the buildings.
“The city of Santa Clarita was recently named the most business-friendly city in Los Angeles County by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation and is the premier location for business in this region,” said John Balestra, Senior Vice President with Trammel Crow Company’s SoCal Los Angeles Business Unit.
The project is expected to grow into a larger 132-acre, fully entitled site approved for up to 4.2 million square feet of Class A industrial space.
