The May family from Santa Clarita has started a GoFundMe page for their dog Woody, a 4-year-old boxer who recently suffered a cluster of seizures.

Woody has a condition called Idiopathic Epilepsy and has had seizures since he was 2 years old, according to CJ May, Woody’s owner.
While his condition had been manageable for the past few years, Woody suffered from a debilitating cluster of seizures last Wednesday, and has since been in intensive care at Animal Specialty Group in Glendale.
“It is apparent that Woody has received brain damage, but he has shown marked improvement since the beginning of his stay at the vet,” said May. “Although Woody is not entirely back on his feet, he reacts to touch and sound and shows a fight and resilience in his eyes and spirit.”
The May family is asking for the support of the community in any way, whether it be spreading the word, making a donation or merely keeping Woody in their thoughts, according to May.
“We want to fight alongside Woody with the possibility of him attaining a good quality of life, as long as he continues to show the fight in himself as he’s done,” said May.
The GoFundMe page was launched Monday, and has raised over $800 as of Tuesday afternoon, which is over 10 percent of the overall goal of $7,000. The money raised would go to pay for Woody’s medical bills, according to May.
The May family is also planning a fundraising event for the boxer, dubbed “Wood’s Stock.”
“We’ll have a full day of live music, food, coffee, and all proceeds will go to helping Woody get himself back together,” said May.
May is currently looking for a venue and is hoping to host the event within a month.
