Santa Clarita residents Bryant, Deborah, James, Jason, and Shannon Crenshaw are set to compete on two upcoming episode of the show.
Deborah Crenshaw attended the same high school as the show’s host, Steve Harvey: Glenville High School in Cleveland, OH.
“I think that Steve Harvey does an excellent job hosting the show,” said Deborah. “He’s personable off-screen and on.”
In order to be selected to compete on the game show, the Crenshaw family submitted an audition tape, as well as a letter explaining who they were and why they wanted to be on “Family Feud.”
“It was the funnest thing I’ve ever done,” said Jason, Deborah’s son. “It was better than any board game or family game night.”
“Family Feud” is a television game show where two families compete to name the most popular responses to survey questions in order to win cash and prizes.
Both Deborah and Jason described their time competing on the show as an “adrenaline rush.”
“You think you’re nervous, but then you realize you’re not nervous,” said Jason. “You’re just really excited.”
When asked if she would return to the game show given the chance, Deborah immediately said yes.
“It’s just a really good experience,” said Deborah. “They make you feel like you belong.”
The Crenshaw family’s appearances on “Family Feud” are scheduled to air on Tuesday, May 8, and Wednesday, May 9 on KCAL 9.
