For the ninth year, the 2017 festival will feature music, theater and free performances of Shakespeare in Towsley Canyon.
Thousands of Santa Clarita residents turn out every year to witness the hundreds of performers over the summer run.
In years past, LA SummerFEST has funded its events through “pass the hat” donations at performances. However, organizers fear this is not enough to continue, after an increase in operating costs.
Do you have a news tip? Call us at (661) 298-1220, or drop us a line at community@hometownstation.com.The new $7,500 bill is almost twice SummerFEST’s festival budget, organizers said.
Those who donate can receive perks such as water bottles, picnic blankets and tickets to upcoming events.

I encourage you to donate to this amazing “Shakespeare in the Park” local group.
David Stears and many others work endless un-paid hours to bring professional level theater to our valley.
We can go enjoy this company July 28, 30, August 11, 12, and 13th. Only five nights left to experience
Shakespeare like the Ashland Org. folks. Donate to them, or better yet take your chair, picnic, a bottle of wine, and a donation out for one of the remaining performances. You can even “Hiss”and “boo” Ludovico,
that mean fellow.
