Troop Nos. 1222 and 2932 are asking the community to donate what they can to designated zones at Peachland Elementary at 24800 Peachland Ave., in Newhall.

The troops are working with the American Red Cross on the project.

Girl Scout Co-Leader Melinda Falomir said the girls came up with the idea.

“We got in contact with the Red Cross and filled out the application (Monday),” she said.

“Please help our local Girl Scouts as we come together in our community and help hurricane victims,” reads a newsletter sent out by the Girl Scouts. “Anything helps.”
