Santa Clarita Prepares For Annual 4th Of July Parade

The city of Santa Clarita has opened up registration for those interested in entering the 2018 Santa Clarita 4th of July Parade.

The parade is set to once again wind its way down Main Street, Lyons Avenue and Orchard Village.

This year’s Grand Marshall is Fred Trueblood with the theme “It is a Grand Old Flag.” The parade is set to be dedicated to the memory of Fred’s mother, Bobbie Trueblood Davis, according to event officials.

The day is set to begin with a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the start of the parade route, according to officials

The parade first rolled through Santa Clarita in 1932 and has consistently been lined with thousands of families, according to event officials.

For entrants who register by June 15, 2018, the non-commercial fee is $40 with the commercial fee at $175. Between June 16, 2018 and the final deadline of June 22, 2018, the rates are $60 for non-commercial and $225 for commercial. All entries are judged and have a chance to win in any one of 35 different categories.
