CHP officers hosted “Coffee with a Cop” at Honu Coffee in Newhall from 8:30-10:30 a.m., as a way to meet with the community, and give back, officials said.

CHP officers paid for the first $100 worth of coffee purchased that morning as a thank you to those who stopped by the shop

“I’m here to answer your questions whether it be about traffic, complaints about speed bumps in your neighborhood,” said Josh Greengard, CHP press information officer. “This community is awesome, they really support local Sheriff’s Station, the fire stations and the local fire patrol, and it’s always nice for us to give something back to them.”

Dozens of community members came up to the officers and thanked them for the notices online and Nixle notices, Greengard said, which alerted residents about the event.
