“There were were no injuries and all parties were sent away without needing medical attention,” said Lt. Mohrhoff, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
However, although the incident occurred without any serious consequences or bodily harm to those involved, motorists were in gridlock driving up to crash’s location.
A tow truck needed to be called for the smaller vehicle, and pictures needed to be taken for insurance purposes, but the bus was in good enough shape that it was able to drive “back to the yard,” said Lujan.
The Friday morning traffic was delayed for at least a hour, according to officials. But by 8 a.m., most of the obstruction and traffic hazards that were the result of the collision had been cleared, allowing traffic to return to normal.
This is not the only occurrence of a civilian vehicle presumably striking a City of Santa Clarita public bus in recent months.

In October 2017, a public bus and several other vehicles collided at the the intersection of Sierra Highway and Golden Valley Rd, roughly two miles from the location of where Friday mornings incident transpired.
Marie Antoinette Davis, 67, was killed when the Toyota Corolla she was driving was stopped at a light, and then struck from behind by a Ford F-250, a collision that pushed the small-sized sedan into the path of an oncoming bus.
In addition to Davis, four others were injured as a result of that October collision including the driver of the Ford truck that pushed the senior-woman into oncoming traffic.
