Just in time for Labor Day Weekend, finding information for your trip to Angeles National Forest and San Bernardino National Forest just got a lot easier on Monday as both national forest units launched new forest-specific mobile apps.

The apps are now available for download from the Google Play and Apple App stores.

“Visitors plan their trips in a variety of ways, and offering a mobile-friendly option is one way the public has asked for, especially younger generations,” said San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor Jody Noiron. “This beta version is our first attempt, so we hope visitors find it useful and can offer us feedback.”

The apps focus on campgrounds and trails, which are the most frequently asked-about features on forest websites, but also include maps, tours and other basic information.

To download, search for “Angeles National Forest” and “San Bernardino Nat. Forest” in the Google Play and Apple App stores.

The apps can also be accessed on the web here for the Angeles National Forest, and here for the San Bernardino National Forest.

Cleveland National Forest released its app last summer and Los Padres National Forest is currently building one. Nationally, more than 30 national forests have them, including Sequoia, Shasta-Trinity, Lake Tahoe and Mendocino in California.
