The specialized open house for high functioning autistic individuals and their families to learn about specialized job training took place, Nov. 28, at the College of the Canyons University Center.

At the meeting, participants learned about the program, which provides them with the training needed to take on a manufacturing career utilizing innovative CNC (computer numerical control) machining.

“This is an incredible job training program that facilitates opportunities for special needs individuals to have careers in manufacturing,” said Jeff Strully, Executive Director for Jay Nolan Community Services.

The 12-week program features 420 hours of in-class teaching by staff at College of the Canyons.
